Looking after your own room

You are expected to keep your room clean and tidy, including making your bed each day. Beds in an Australian household have a fitted bottom sheet, a top sheet and a doona/quilt (in a cover). It is customary to sleep between the two sheets.

Cooking is not permitted in the bedroom.

Never leave food in your bedroom as this can attract insects.

Be sure to ask for your homestay parent’s permission before inviting guests to the homestay and to your room.
